Fateful and encouraging

For six hours, Isabelle Müller lay on the tracks in her French hometown. She was waiting for the express train from Paris that would free her from her life of fear, hatred, and despair. But the French railway went on strike 28 years ago that night. For the then 17-year-old, it was a sign: “I must not die,” she knew after her failed suicide attempt, which was not her first.
