On numerous trips to Asia, author Isabelle Müller discovered her Vietnamese roots and most of the locations from her mother, Dau-Thi-Cuc’s eventful life. In 2009, she published her biography, “Phoenix Daughter.” “My mother was already a border crosser. So I learned early on to live with my boundaries and the infringements and attacks of others on them,” Isabelle Müller said in a conversation with Lena Bökenhans of Wir Frauen.
